COOKIE POLICY

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that a website you visit, such as ours, can install and store on your computer or mobile terminal (tablet, smartphone, laptop). Thanks to cookies, the page remembers your actions during navigation.

The use of cookies as trackers is supported by various browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Opera. If you wish, you can disable them so that they are not accepted, or delete them afterwards.

In addition to cookies, our website also uses browser localStorage — a similar technology that stores small pieces of data locally on your device. Under the ePrivacy Directive, localStorage is treated the same as cookies and is therefore covered by this policy.

2. Functions of cookies

Depending on their type, cookies perform functions such as keeping you logged in, measuring the traffic of the page, recording the number of visitors, language, time of entry, geographical origin, device identifiers (e.g. operating system, screen resolution), keywords used, entry attempts, etc. Some cookies constitute personal data and others do not. Some cookies are technically necessary while others serve commercial and advertising purposes.

3. Types of cookies

There are different types of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies are essential for the website to function. They enable core services such as user authentication and session management. These cookies do not require your consent and cannot be disabled without breaking the site.
  • Functional / preference cookies remember choices you make (such as your cookie consent decision or whether you have dismissed the app install prompt) to improve your experience.
  • Analytics / performance cookies collect anonymous, aggregated data about how visitors use the website. They help us understand traffic patterns and improve our services. These cookies require your prior consent.
  • Third-party cookies are set by external services embedded on or used by our website (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Maps). Their use is governed solely by those third parties.
  • Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period or until you delete them.

4. Legal basis for the use of cookies

The installation and use of cookies is specifically regulated by law (Art. 5 of Law 3471/2006, which incorporated European Directive 2002/58/EC — ePrivacy), which is expected to be replaced by a Regulation (ePrivacy Regulation). Each website is permitted to install cookies only if: (a) they are strictly necessary for the service requested, or (b) the user has given explicit prior consent following clear and comprehensive information (in accordance with GDPR 2016/679 and the instructions of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority).

On StyleSlots, strictly necessary cookies are always active. All other cookies (analytics, third-party) are loaded only after you have given your explicit consent via the cookie banner displayed on your first visit.

5. How we use cookies

We use cookies and localStorage for the following purposes:

  • Authentication: to keep you securely logged in as you navigate between pages.
  • Consent memory: to remember whether you have accepted or declined non-essential cookies, so we do not ask you again on every page.
  • App install preference: to remember whether you have dismissed the "Install App" prompt, so we do not show it again too soon.
  • Analytics (with consent only): to understand how visitors use our platform in aggregate, helping us improve the service. Analytics are only activated after you accept cookies.
  • Address search (on demand): when you choose to search for an address using Google Maps (by clicking "Search in Google Maps"), the Google Maps JavaScript API is loaded. This is triggered solely by your explicit action, not automatically on page load.

6. Cookies and similar technologies we use

The table below lists all cookies and localStorage items set by StyleSlots or by third-party services we use.

7. Third-party providers

Our website uses the following third-party services that may set their own cookies or use similar technologies:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) — measures website traffic and user behaviour in aggregate. Activated only after you give consent. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Google Maps Places API — provides address autocomplete and geocoding (converting an address to coordinates). This service is loaded only on explicit user request (when you click "Search in Google Maps") and is not loaded automatically. Google's privacy policy applies.
  • Supabase — our backend infrastructure provider. Supabase sets secure, HTTP-only session cookies for authentication purposes. No tracking or advertising cookies are set by Supabase. Supabase's privacy policy applies: supabase.com/privacy.

The technologies described above can be used to monitor and measure the frequency of traffic. However, through these technologies your personal data cannot be individually identified and the findings are used solely for statistical purposes.

Mandatory acceptance of cookies is not a prerequisite for entering our website. You can freely navigate the website, choosing whether or not to accept third-party analytics cookies. The use policy for third-party cookies is determined solely by those third parties, without our involvement or legal responsibility for their practices.

8. Checking and deleting cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies according to your wishes. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer, as well as configure most browsers to prevent cookies from being installed. However, in this case, you may have to adjust certain preferences yourself each time you visit a website, and some services (such as staying logged in) may not work.

To clear localStorage data set by this website, you can use your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → styleslots.gr → Clear) or clear your browser's site data from the browser settings.

To change your cookie consent at any time, clear the cookie-consent entry from your browser's localStorage and reload the page — the consent banner will reappear.

This policy will be reviewed regularly to adapt it to the instructions of the Supervisory Authorities and the latest legislative and regulatory developments.
